I come from middle class background and for us, even small things have a special place in heart. Not because there aren't any new alternatives, just because the memories associated with them. And when Bajaj announced that they are are going to stop the production of scooter, it surely marked the end of an era. My father got this Bajaj Super (Pehelwan - we love to call it that way) before my birth in Kanpur and ever since he just another member of the family. And always the most reliable one. My father still drives it much more pride than the recent addition to XCD into the list. 22 Years of service and still going good guns. I don't know how my father decided on that green color, but it looks perfectly awesome on it. Any other thing and I would have hated that thing. I can't forget how we all used to fit into our Pehelwan. Bangalore time was so much fun. Great ideas need not necessarily come in washrooms. I got this one while on bike with my friend Rajiv on our way to Shayak's place. Personal Contact Manager, a website that allows the user to manage his/her contacts in an easy and efficient manner. Now, whats different with it. A lot of applications provide this feature. Ever since Windows is being shipped by Microsoft, Phonebook and Outlook Express provide these features. So, let me put it this way. Where are most of the contacts of a person? Even if you don't have any answer or trying to juggle out your way counting the contacts at various social networking sites; even a layman would want to have all his contacts right on his hand. Hi people. Its been a long time since I have posted anything on this blog. We had this idea that we will be sharing our ideas and experiences. Actually this post should have come earlier if I would have known how to show HTML code nicely in the posts. But this time, things are better. So here it is... It all started during the SDRC-UG introduction session with the BBA-IT freshers of our college, SICSR . This time we had decided to put the recruitment process online where the students have to register themselves online. Naturally they have to fill the form (<form>). One of the students came to me and asked various things and told me that he is one of those differently-abled people. Just then I realized whether the forms that we had been designing since beginning can be accessible by such people. When Google-d it out, I came to know that all those forms are not for such people. Crap...:-( I am sure all those in the same field could feel the same way. So much work done over the year...

Finally back to technical stuff. Dual boot is very common these days with people having Linux and windows both at the same time unleashing the power of both the OS at the same time. If something goes wrong with Linux, then its pretty straight forward. Re-installation does the work automatically. But when the windows goes wrong, then is something problematic. So, how to preserve the linux when windows is re-installed? To know how to do this, you need to first understand whats happening with your system during the whole process. When Linux is installed as a dual boot on windows, some boot loader is installed to support both the operating systems. So, the Master Boot Record(MBR) is re-written to point to the linux boot loader(LILO or GRUB) when the Linux is installed on top of windows. Windows is booted as chainloading process. Now, when you re-install the windows, the MBR is written by windows to directly boot the windows. So, despite that you have all the settings preserved for linux bo...
