Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

Alone

No one can see the pain that we hide, They're happy for us to keep it inside, Our fear is our own; they don't want to know, Why should we involve them; why should it show. You live your whole life in confusion and fear, The need to feel something unbearably near, Half of you living, Half of you gone, And inside you know what your doing is wrong. The thing's that can help, the thing's that may heal, Are the flame or the blade and the sting of the steel, The destruction of skin means the death of your soul, But there's nowhere to run when your living alone.

Custom order for SQL Query results using Order By

One thing that I surely believe is "Necessities drive Innovation". But, one has to think different at crucial times to be innovative. Well, that's not a subject of discussion for this. But it does originate from that idea. Just before our monthly release and when everything is all prepared, we found a bug in the code. GOD, how many times we test, where do they make their way. Anyways, we needed something which required no code changes as the code is already delivered. We only had database with us to play. Basically our problem was, we needed the first record from the set of two records based on a values in VARCHAR field. That means, we needed to apply some ordering to the records based on the values. But, ORDER BY only supports Alphabetic ordering on the values. But, that's what we generally know. Because we wanted to order the records in the manner we specify, we had to look for some solution. And we did find an interesting stuff at Jmatrix.net that allows us to s

The Newage "Love"

Love trascends all boundaries... And people are really transcending in love... What can I say... Its everywhere. Gone are the days when families decide the life partner for their children. Today, the families accept the choices of their children. Sometimes its fruitful for everyone, sometimes its otherwise. Sometimes family decisions over-power love, sometimes love threatens families. Yes, I have been listening to the stories of all kind... Real one's though. The recent visit of Sweety here clearly gives this indication. There was time when the girls have nothing to say when it came to their marriages. They even don't get to see their partner's pic as well till the first night of their marriage ("Suhaag Raat"). Today, so much is different. Forget about the picture, both of them already know each other so very well.. in and out. Some time back, guys used to travel to meet their sweethearts; today, girls are not holding back in any sense. In fact, they are travellin

What my "The Ultimate Career Personality test" says about me

Just browsing through the Delicious bookmarks, I found out this link for Career personality test . Gave it a try and here is what my report was... From the answers you have just provided in the personality questionnaire Deepak Shakya, it's already clear that you need to work in a place where people come first. You work hard at creating harmony because people are important to you. You care how people feel about things. Your job must offer you this Deepak Shakya. It is essential that the company, its managers and its employees value and respect the people that work there. You cannot work in a place that doesn't trully value its people. Not everyone needs this from their work. In fact many people would struggle to understand the importance of it but not you. Well, I personally don't take these kind of opinions, but I guess this is very true from whatever I have experienced in last one year or so.

Aggregating Multiple Row values into One column

This is pretty interesting and useful. Sometimes, we might need to aggregate multiple row values into one single column. Oracle 9i provides xmlagg() function to achieve this. Here is the employee table example which aggregates the multiple employee names into one column based on the department no. select deptno, rtrim (xmlagg (xmlelement (e, ename ',')).extract ('//text()'), ',') enames from emp group by deptno ; DEPTNO ENAMES ---------- ---------------------------------------- 10 CLARK,MILLER,KING 20 SMITH,FORD,ADAMS,SCOTT,JONES 30 ALLEN,JAMES,TURNER,BLAKE,MARTIN,WARD Magic isn't it. For more details, refer to the following URL: http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_converting_rows_columns.htm

Apple Menu

This is my favourite stuff. I think I have made it third time and I think I can make it any time. Its so much fun everytime. Okay whats with the Apple. I saw a similar menu on Apple'e website during my 2nd semester in SICSR and was so amazed with it that decided to make it on my own. And it came out so well that I can't explain the amount of satisfaction that it brought along. But due to some reason it got lost. My old pc problem. The second time I made it during the Patni Javascript training session. It didn't came out that well. So, now I decided to make it the way I made it earlier and here in Chennai, and Eureka. I have done it again. So, here is a short tutorial for it. The HTML First of all, the HTML markup. Nothing great. A wrapper container for the whole thing, a fixed header, and the main wrapper container for menu items and then the menu item blocks. Here is all of it. <div id= "main_container" > <div id= "header"

Logging messages to Javascript console

Image
If you have had experience of web development and have hands on javascript coding, you will know how difficult it becomes at times when you have to debug javascript code. And it gets worse when you have multiple browsers rendering the javascript in their own ways. I could remember debugging the javascript code manually by putting those crappy and irritating alert() messages in the code to know how the code is being executed to root cause the issue. And if you know what I am talking about, you will know what I am talking about. But browsers have evolved a lot is the last five years and so as the tools for web development. When I first started using the Web Developer addon , it was like I had waited for it since ages for it. And I still feel there is no match for it. Even though the javascript console was available in Firefox, with usage of Web Developer, it was more accessible than ever. Okay. Too much theory. Lets get to point. You need to debug javascript pages and get rid of those al

Straight up

I am a lonely path of broken dreams, it is a heaven that I am searching for. All these stars seem soo dull to me, it is the moon that I am searching for. Happiness is so angry at me, it is joy that I am searching for. There is a crowd around me at all times, it is a soul that I am searching for. My life is like an endless road, it is a destination I am searching for. Don't know what is it that I have lost, May be it is me that I am searching for. 1 day, I'l leave the world and never come back... U may cry when you see my number... You may miss me when you sit together with friends... Won't be able to hear my laugh and my voice again... There will be no more ME to irritate you... Tease, make you laugh and say sorry stupidly... I won't call by all the stupid names I do... Tears might flow out of eyes, but I'l be gone... Long and forever... So enjoy my company as much before I close my eyes forever...

Six diamonds of my life – My angels

My life at Symbiosis; doing BCA, could not have been better anywhere. Two years mean so much in a student life and those precious two years have rewarded me with my angels. Here is a brief description about them all... The Knight - What should I write about him. No1 can summarize in a line or two. What has been the most memorable moment of my life is when he came to me on the second day of our BCA, and offered a handshake. At that time I just exchanged the handshake with a lot of doubt. In fact every handshake at that time had an element of doubt. But it was just the beginning and what happened next to me is known to every1. I think where I am today, is all because of him. He took me everywhere he went. And what not we achieved as a duo. SDRC-UG, SDRC, the college website intsites/ug, the noodle, and many more things to follow. He always pushed me to limits. He always tried to explore the new horizons and like a kid holding hands of his father, I enjoyed all the trips; all of them. Cr

An un-toasted toast

Today, I raise toast to all my dear and lovely friends... who have gathered here, sparing their precious of times to allow each other to cherish each other's presence and share and revive the times and memories that we created and celebrated, knowlingly or unknowingly... Times have changed and our priorities have changed...Paths have parted and places have changed too... but we still are here again and that tells that whatever changes come to our life and however alien environments be... our love and passion towards our friendship will always remain the same... On this day, I pray to GOD that we continue to meet this way, more often, of course... We never have any bad feelings for another one, what-so-ever be the things have happened.. And we stay together as always we have been ever since we first met And for those who are not hear, let's hope they come next time... Otherwise we will see to that... Thank you
